Baby Shower Spotlight: A Blue & White Affair

In our new Baby Shower Series, we’re uncovering the details behind some of the loveliest events that honor Mom, from venue and invitations to food and favors. This month’s feature is an adorable blue & white baby shower, photographed by Andie Ingagliato from Costola Photography. Let’s take a peek!
Venue & Invitations:
This beautiful baby shower was held at a private residence, primarily in the home’s dining room, which is decorated with gorgeous blue and white wallpaper. So it was actually the event’s backdrop – rather than the baby’s gender – that inspired the stunning blue and white invitations and other event details.
Since this Mom-to-be’s style is very traditional and timeless, a classic invitation suite from Minted, featuring a traditional white and gray calligraphy font with touches of modern font, was chosen to set the tone for the day.
Flowers, Food & Favors:
Tons of flowers in shades of white, ivory, cream and a pop of blue (with wild greenery for a more romantic feel!) were sprinkled throughout the home. With a 2pm start time, the hosts decided to serve brunch with a menu that included bite sized chicken and waffles, bagels, and a charcuterie spread, perfectly blending sweet and savory. After brunch, guests were served cake (both chocolate and vanilla) from a local bakery.
Once gifts were opened, guests were given a small bouquet to take home with them as their favor. Greenery and flowers were wrapped in pink wax paper, and tied with a bow and tag that matched the invitation. The perfect way to end the festivities!

Baby Shower Gift Ideas:
For this classic blue and white baby shower, we would curate a care package for Mom full of self-care luxuries for her to enjoy after the event and during her final weeks of pregnancy, like a maternity robe (in our more traditional oatmeal and cream striped print), a book about motherhood or a journal to record her thoughts, and a couple of soothing bath & body items to help her relax and unwind after such a busy (and wonderful!) day.
For baby, we’d curate a gift basket in our cotton rope diaper caddy, and fill it with adorable items like a sleepy bear lovey to snuggle, stackable boats and an all-natural soak to assist Mom with bathtime, a striped onesie personalized with baby’s name, and a few other new baby essentials to help set up the nursery!
