What I'm Giving My Mom For Mother's Day
I asked my Mom, who is in her early 70s, what she wants for Mother’s Day. Usually, I surprise her with a gift, but I really wanted her input on which items resonate with her the most from our shop at Nurtured 9. I figured her answers might help some of you who are wondering what Mother's Day gift to get for YOUR older mom (or grandmother)!
HERE IS WHAT I’M GIVING MY MOM AND WHY SHE CHOSE EACH ITEM (IN HER WORDS)
Ice Roller
“These are great. We all wake up a little puffy in the morning, but you especially do as you get older! This would really help with that.”
Scarf
“Grandmothers always like scarves. I really like this red one.”
Sunglasses/Mask Chain
“This is a great idea for my eyeglasses. Dad told me I should get one because I always leave my glasses in another room and I’m constantly looking for them. If you have one of these you can wear them around your neck and always have them with you.”
Notepad
“Oh I use a ton of notes, and so do my friends, so these are perfect.”
Sleep Mask
“Women my age would love this because we often have trouble sleeping at night, and this would be really helpful because it would block out the light if you need to get more rest during the day.”
Hand Lotion
“Well you know how much I love hand lotion! This would be fun because it would be another brand to try. And I like that it’s small enough to keep it in your bag.”
AND THEN AS A LITTLE SURPRISE, I ALSO ADDED ON THESE ITEMS:
Leather Bookmark
My mom absolutely loves to read. And since she’s retired, she has the time to read a lot! I will admit, she’s gotten used to reading on her ipad during the pandemic when the library was closed, but I know she’ll continue to read actual hard copies in the future and I think this is such a special way to mark her page.
8 Sheep Sleepy Body Lotion
We discovered this amazing lotion during pregnancy. It’s specially formulated with magnesium to ease aches and pains as well as help you sleep, and it’s quickly become a bestseller here at Nurtured 9. It sounds like something that would be perfect for my mom, as she’s often achy AND has trouble falling asleep, so I’m going to give her a jar to try out!
And there you have it! Best of all, everything will come wrapped up in a beautiful bundle with a special notecard. I know the items themselves will be a hit, but the sweet presentation is what’s going to put it over the top. What are you giving your mom or grandmother for Mother’s Day? Whatever you decide, we hope you have a wonderful day celebrating the special Moms (and/or “Mom Figures”) in your life!
